Performance-based
The IB concentration awards Honors on the basis of performance, not on the basis of courses taken. There is thus no difference between the basic IB requirements and the honors IB requirements. The following table indicates how honors is calculated.

*GPA within concentration is calculated for the 13 half-courses that satisfy concentration requirements plus any additional IB courses. In the case of requirement 1d, the best four grades in related fields will be used in the calculation. For students in the classes of '22, '23, and '24 who have fulfilled both the previous (four mid-levels, two advanced levels) and the revised (three mid-levels, three advanced levels) requirements, the within-concentration GPA used is the highest one.
