Brought to you by the Harvard Student Advisory Board for Science and the FAS Dean of Science

Now in its sixth year, the Neekeyfar Lecture Series on Science and Mathematics for Undergraduates brings preeminent scientists to campus to expose undergraduate students to cutting-edge research in science and mathematics. The talk this year features Juan Maldacena, a theoretical astrophysicist, who will join us from the Institute for Advanced Study. Professor Maldacena's work focuses on quantum gravity, string theory, and quantum field theory. He has proposed a relationship between quantum gravity and quantum field theories that elucidates various aspects of both theories. He is studying this relationship further in order to understand the deep connection between black holes and quantum field theories, and he is also exploring the connection between string theory and cosmology.

Prizes being given out at the end of the lecture include an iPad Mini, a Harvard Lab Coat and other Harvard gear.
