The Harvard College Stem Cell Society
Board Positions Available

HCSCS Mission Statement:
To establish a strong community of undergraduates passionate about stem cell discovery and its potential in transforming medicine.

About HCSCS:
The Harvard College Stem Cell Society (HCSCS) has been revitalized to cultivate the interests of students in stem cells and regenerative medicine. Since their discovery, stem cells have always been a fascinating subject of research and a useful tool for genetic manipulations in the laboratory. The HCSCS is dedicated to raising awareness about the groundbreaking advances in stem cell research and to build a strong undergraduate community of leaders in the field of stem cell discovery and regenerative medicine.

To accomplish these goals, the society will organize various events in order to raise awareness about the exciting discoveries and new stem cell applications to the Harvard community at large. Such events include a seminar series with faculty members from our very own SCRB (Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology) department to share the latest advances in their research and vision for the future of stem cell research. We also aim to raise awareness about the applications of stem cells to various fields such as medicine, public policy, law, and bio-entrepreneurship by inviting experts in these fields to seminars, workshops, and career panels.

We also hope to engage a stronger community of undergraduates passionate about the future of stem cells by organizing study breaks and smaller discussion groups facilitated by expert faculty members to discuss research trends, the ethics of stem cells, and other topics that will expand the scope of their knowledge on stem cells and developmental biology and be well informed of these ideas.

Another component of the HCSCS will be community outreach, including possible collaborations with local community centers and high schools to provide educational presentations on stem cells with aims of increasing understanding and debunking common myths and misunderstandings. The HCSCS will be a great resource for anyone interested in stem cells, developmental biology and regenerative medicine.

What we are looking for:
The HCSCS is looking for passionate, motivated, and dedicated board members to help organize its events and operations for the upcoming spring semester and for the 2015- 2016 academic year. The available positions and their related responsibilities are listed below.
